Dr. David Herman
Senior Pastor
Pastor David is a native of Creedmoor and has been serving at Pleasant Grove since September 2007. Pastor David began serving as Senior Pastor in February of 2019. He is a three-time graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) where he received a bachelor's degree in Pastoral Ministry, a master's degree in Church Revitalization. and a Doctor of Ministry.
Pastor David and his wife Kelly have two sons, Nash and Judson, who bring great joy to their lives. In their free time, their family loves spending time with family and friends, playing golf, traveling to the beach, and being with the families of Pleasant Grove.

rev. Dave west
Associate Pastor
Pastor David grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. He received Christ at age 11 and immediately began to serve the Lord at Calvary Baptist Temple. He received his Bible degree from Pensacola Christian College and his master's degree in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He began serving at Pleasant Grove in June 2026.
David and his wife, Darcie, have three adult sons, Ethan, Evan, and Eran. Ethan serves on staff at a sister church. Evan married Chelsea and they have two children, Olan and Ezra. They serve as urban church planters in New Bedford, MA. Eran married Lexi and they have two children, Everett and Adelaide. He serves as a worship leader in Topeka, KS.
David enjoys spending time with Darcie, watching all kinds of sports (especially Auburn Tigers), playing golf, and being a grandparent.

rEV. Joseph Hart
Student Pastor
Joseph grew up in Granville County where he attended South Granville High School and later received a bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies from the College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Joseph has a heart for helping young people come to Christ and equipping them to grow in the Lord. Joseph began serving at Pleasant Grove in April 2022.
In his free time, Joseph enjoys reading, coffee, exercising because he loves eating and being with family and friends.

Stephen qualls
children's Pastor
Pastor Stephen is a native of Charlotte, NC and has been serving at Pleasant Grove since June 2026. He is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity.
Stephen and his wife, Emma Grace, met while attending Gardner-Webb University. They have two sons, Zeke and Maverick. In their free time, they enjoy spending time with family and friends, cheering on the UNC Tar Heels and New York Yankees, collecting sports cards, reading, and drinking coffee.
Stephen is passionate about evangelism and loves seeing Jesus transform lives through the power of the gospel.

Mrs. Allison Day
Administrative assistant
Allison is originally from Fredericksburg, VA, and is a graduate of Montreat College in Montreat, NC, where she majored in mathematics. She has been married to Chris since 1999, and they enjoy spending time outdoors in God's beautiful creation exploring state and national parks. Allison and Chris have 2 adult children, Emma and Jacob. Allison has been serving at Pleasant Grove since May 2017.
